Markers and Tokens
Markers & Tokens
Many scenarios require the players to place markers or tokens on the battlefield. Markers are static objects representing points of interest, while tokens usually represent wyrdstone and treasure that can be carried by fighters. Neither is part of the battlefield, meaning that fighters can move over them and stand upon them. When measuring distances to a marker or token, measure to and from the centre of the marker or token.
Control
A warband is said to be in control of a marker or token if there are more friendly fighters within 1” of it, than there are enemy fighters within 1” of it. For control purposes, HEROES count as two fighters.
Carrying Tokens
A fighter within 1" of a token in its warband's control can pick it up as a free action. Remove the token from the battlefield, or keep it next to the fighter to indicate that it is carried.
There is no limit to the number of tokens a fighter can carry, unless the scenario states otherwise.
Fighters with the BEAST or THRALL keyword can never pick up or carry tokens.
Dropping Tokens
A fighter can use an action to drop one or more tokens that they are carrying. The controlling player places each dropped token on the battlefield, within 1” of the fighter. If a fighter carrying tokens is taken out of action, the controlling player must drop all carried tokens before removing the fighter from the battlefield.
Other tokens
Tokens may also be used to keep track of special rules affecting a fighter (such as a fighter being panicked) or faction rules (such as a fighter being condemned). Such tokens have no effect on gameplay.
